The national general secretary of Coalición Canaria-PNC, Fernando Clavijo, has proposed this Monday that the central government take charge of the purchase of antigen tests with the aim of then distributing them at no additional cost among the population.
This would be to, with it, "stop infections and prevent the spread of Covid", Clavijo asserted, who also defended "that public administrations favor access to antigen tests, regulating and lowering their price".
Clavijo advocated for the "massive and recurrent purchase" of these tests and their distribution through the different competent autonomous administrations, "thus allowing each citizen to periodically have one of these available free of charge and favoring greater control over infections and the spread of the virus".
This measure seeks to end "not only speculation with prices and shortages in this type of diagnostic tests, but also to guarantee that all citizens can access this type of tests and, in the process, decongest the points enabled for carrying out other types of COVID diagnostic tests".
