The Lanzarote MPs of the Canarian Nationalist Group (CC-PNC-AHI) have announced the content of the 67 amendments "that, if approved, would improve by almost 37 million euros (36,755,000 euros)" the projects included in the draft General Budget Law of the Autonomous Community for the year 2023 for the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
A work that has been prepared by the deputies Oswaldo Betancort, Jesús Machín and David de La Hoz (who has not been able to travel to Lanzarote due to coinciding with a parliamentary commission) with the aim of "compensating for the losses that the accounts of the Canarian Executive will entail".
As Betancort and Machín stressed, the amendments presented "are destined for works, concrete projects and real needs, easily executable if there is a will, in each and every one of the seven municipalities and in La Graciosa".
Among the most notable items to be incorporated, the nationalists propose one million euros for the parking of the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital and another million for the access works to the aforementioned hospital.
It should also be noted the one hundred thousand euros that would go to the Lanzarote Biosphere Reserve and 250,000 to recover the Canary Islands Atmospheric Observatory.
The nationalists also ask for one and a half million euros for shade areas in the educational centers of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, 400,000 for the Lanzarote Early Care Unit and 650,000 for the Argana Health Center, in addition to another one and a half million euros for the Development Plan for Child and Adolescent Mental Health of the Canary Islands.
They also propose the inclusion of two million euros for the 'Modernization of irrigation in the northeast of Lanzarote' and three million for the controversial burial of the LZ-2 as it passes through Playa Honda.
"There are many other important works to take into account so that the Canarian budgets are totally fair to our two islands and we are going to demand that this be the case," said the deputies, who stressed that in the drafting of the entire document "we have focused on Health, Education, Agriculture, Climate Change and the island of La Graciosa and prepared these amendments to transform into reality, with actions endowed with projects, the totally fictitious budget that the Government of the Canary Islands has presented".
Projects among which they have highlighted, for example, for the municipality of Tías, the roof of the CEIP Concepción Rodríguez Artiles (one and a half million euros), while for Yaiza they highlight the 500,000 euros destined to the Arrangement of the Pavilion of the IES Yaiza.
Of the amendments for Arrecife, the nationalists have highlighted, among others, the item of 700,000 euros for the headquarters of the Canarian Police, and, in the case of Haría, the 600,000 euros for the expansion of the Health Center.
In San Bartolomé, the rehabilitation and beautification of the industrial area of Playa Honda is vital, to which they propose to allocate 500,000 euros, and for Tinajo they include in their amendments one million euros for the second phase of municipal sanitation.
In the case of Teguise, the nationalist parliamentarians have included in their amendments, 150,000 euros for the drafting of the Special Plan for the Historic Site of La Villa de Teguise and another 150,000 for the drafting of the Governing Plan for Use and Management of the Chinijo Archipelago.
Finally, among the needs of the island of La Graciosa, the Lanzarote deputies consider that one million euros should be allocated to improvements and maintenance of the Port of Caleta Sebo, 100,000 to the Tourist Information Point and 200,000 to the Equipment Warehouse of the eighth island.
