The Coalición Canaria Group in the San Bartolomé City Council, through its spokesperson David Rocío, has shown its concern about the placement of a structure intended to house a mobile phone antenna in the nucleus of San Bartolomé, an installation that is already in use and that, according to the party in a press release, "has generated discomfort among the neighbors."

From CC they have assured that "it is not the first time that this situation is repeated", since just a few months after the citizen controversy over the installation of another antenna in Güime –which continues unresolved– the residents of San Bartolomé have started a collection of signatures to request the removal of the new structure.

David Rocío has pointed out that “Coalición Canaria has insisted in the last plenary sessions on the need for the City Council to determine the appropriate spaces for this type of installation, with clear and agreed criteria. It cannot continue to be allowed that these structures appear overnight without facing the neighbors”.

In this sense, Coalición Canaria has demanded that the government group, led by the PSOE, immediately convene an informative meeting with the citizens of San Bartolomé, as was done in Güime at the time after our complaints, with the aim of clarifying the situation and offering guarantees to the residents.

“The PSOE continues to govern behind the backs of the neighbors. They limit themselves to letting individuals place these antennas and structures without giving explanations or offering alternatives, while concern and uncertainty grow in the population,” Rocío criticized.

Coalición Canaria has stressed that it will continue "defending the interests of the neighbors" and demanding that the City Council play an active role in the planning and control of these infrastructures. “We are not against the improvement of telecommunications, but we demand that it be done based on an established plan, with transparency, security and respect for citizens,” concludes the spokesperson.
