The Municipal Group of Coalición Canaria in the Yaiza City Council, led by its spokesperson Emilio Machín, accuses the southern mayor of "laughing at the residents of Golfo with his new idea".
Machín points out that “the mayor has indicated that the Golfo sanitation project is paralyzed, and has presented himself as defender of an initiative that has been stalled for years due to the lack of commitment during the four years of the Socialist Party government in the Cabildo, assuring that he is going to give two million euros”.
The opposition party criticizes that "this project, approved in 2017, did not have any action or follow-up by the mayor of UPY, Óscar Noda, who is now quick to criticize the lack of execution."
Likewise, Emilio Machín, highlights that "in just a year and a half of management, with Coalición Canaria in the government of the Cabildo, more progress has been made than in the previous seven years. The Cabildo has even had to require the City Council for vital documentation on this matter, because that hadn't even been done”.
The nationalist spokesperson also denounces that “these two million euros that the mayor has just pulled out of his sleeve could have been used to cover the lack of local police positions or an adequate waste collection service and put an end to the problems of insecurity and deficiencies in the cleanliness of the municipality”.
For CC it is regrettable that, instead of allocating these resources to improve the quality of life of the residents, excuses are used and the paralysis of essential services is perpetuated.
“We urge the mayor to prioritize the safety and well-being of the citizens of Yaiza. We demand that he abandon the occurrences and media opportunism, and that he begin to work responsibly on real solutions for the municipality, which is about time”, asserts the councilor.
