The deputy for the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa and insular president of Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-bc), Yoné Caraballo, has negatively assessed the "business" undertaken by the government group of the Island Council in relation to the chimes that Telecinco broadcast from the island and which he describes as a "historical failure", after achieving "barely 600,000 viewers throughout Spain, a 3% share of the screen", according to data provided by Barlovento Comunicación.

For Caraballo, "we must start from the basis that this business should never have been undertaken, which cost the island coffers 1.5 million euros to supposedly advertise the island to a potential audience with high purchasing power." A "banal" argument that "hides the whims of CC and PP who do not care in the slightest about public money."

"A historical ridicule has been confirmed that must have consequences. You cannot spend public money on whims and failures, and that this remains as if nothing happened. It is money from the people of Lanzarote and they have deceived us," said Yoné Caraballo, who was able to see the broadcast and "left much to be desired."

"That broadcast does not cost 1.5 million euros, and even less for an island like Lanzarote, which is internationally recognized and does not need this type of advertising in a state market that is already consolidated," argued Caraballo, who recalled "that these are the ones who later beat their chests for being good managers and nationalists, when they did not have the slightest consideration in setting as a condition to have artists from the island."

For the Canarian nationalist, "these types of expenses with public money show that we are in an era where the waste of resources is being enormous and, worst of all, without a political cost for the rulers. They throw money away without any accountability."
