With the personal allusions directed at Deputy Yoné Caraballo in the Health Committee of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, a red line has been crossed, both morally and legally. The statements made by Mr. Goya, with the implicit support of Councilor Monzón, have not received—as far as we know—any response from the Canarian Coalition, which leads the Government.

We understand that a possible crime must be analyzed by the courts of justice. However, an unavoidable question arises: what guarantees can workers and citizens have when those who run the health system allegedly access confidential clinical information to use it as a political weapon at the moment they deem appropriate? What can we expect if everything points to the fact that the director of the SCS has illegally accessed the medical history of a parliamentarian to expose it publicly, with the consent of the councilor?

For Intersindical Canaria, knowing Mr. Goya's track record at the head of the management of the University Hospital of the Canary Islands, neither his aggressive manners nor the argumentative mediocrity demonstrated in the Health Commission are surprising. Lacking preparation and solvency often leads to the use of personal attacks as a smokescreen.

From our labor union, we express our support and solidarity with the affected deputy, who has been the target of an inadmissible attack, regardless of any political or ideological differences. Intersindical Canaria defends personal respect, dignity, and privacy as inalienable principles.

The most serious aspect is that this episode occurred with the permissiveness or protection of the Minister of Health herself, who keeps in charge of the SCS a person whose conduct undermines citizen confidence in the institutions and in the protection of health data.

We denounce that the Government presided over by Fernando Clavijo has allowed the normalization of practices typical of political "Trumpism," where personal disqualification and the immoral use of sensitive information replace serious debate and institutional respect. Therefore, we believe that there are more than enough reasons to demand that Mr. Clavijo immediately dismiss the Minister of Health and the director of the SCS, both for their mismanagement and for the serious risk they represent to the public service. The people of the Canary Islands deserve leaders who respect legality, privacy, and transparency, not officials who use other people's health information as a political weapon.
