The Canarian Coalition has offered Armando Santana, councilor of the Mixed Group of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, to join the government group after a meeting he held this Thursday with Oswaldo Betancort, president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, as confirmed to La Voz.
As he explained, he has not yet made a decision on whether or not to accept the proposal, although he will make it "in the coming days."
This incorporation, which had been rumored for months in parallel to the internal crisis of the Popular Party, allows Oswaldo Betancort to reinforce the majority of the government group. Now, it remains to be seen whether Jacobo Medina finally remains with an area or not.
This meeting was held to discuss the rejection of the appearance requested by Armando Santana on the Strategic Transformation Framework (MET) project. In this sense, the councilor said that he "assumes this decision, since in my political career I have never doubted the work of the technicians and even less of a secretary of the Cabildo, if it is in the regulations, then I will comply with it."
Also, in the meeting between Santana and Betancort, the councilor of the Mixed Group asked the president "what island he has in mind because entering a government group is not just entering, I would like to know what island he has in mind, and in many issues we agree and in others not so much."
In addition, he points out that the president of the Cabildo has highlighted "his work during these months because I am not entering here to replace anyone nor do I want the conflicts that exist in the political parties to affect my entry and, if I enter, I will do so for the general interest and to improve the quality of life of the people of Lanzarote."
