Awarded the creation of the new playground in Matagorda, which will quadruple its surface area

The Tías City Council has awarded the contract for the Supply and installation of equipment for the playground according to the comprehensive renovation project of the Matagorda park, Puerto del Carmen, for an amount of 526,120.32 euros, taxes included, to be executed within a period of six months from the formalization of the contract.

The new playground, located on Avenida de las Playas, will have an aeronautical theme design, with an airplane and a 6-meter-high control tower with a slide, balance circuit, 20-meter zip line, trampoline mats on small elevations and wooden pergolas for shade areas.

The mayor and the councilor of Playgrounds, José Juan Cruz and Christopher Notario, express their "satisfaction for the awarding of this project, which will quadruple the surface area of the current park, as it will be expanded from the current 257 square meters to the projected 1,076.74 square meters".

Christopher Notario highlights the excellent location of the park, "with views of the sea and close to the airport area", and emphasizes that "we wanted to design an innovative, attractive and accessible space that surprises families and turns this area into a benchmark for children's leisure on the island. This park is a clear commitment to quality, inclusion and outdoor play in a privileged environment".

The contract includes the provision and installation of equipment for playgrounds, swings for playgrounds, climbing equipment for playgrounds, slides, seesaws, tunnels, sandboxes, bleachers, wall and rope climbing equipment.

In addition to providing numerous play elements and shade areas, the park will meet quality standards complying with UNE-EN 1176, 1177 and EN 16630 standards, as well as guaranteeing the inclusion of people with disabilities and PRM (People with Reduced Mobility).
