The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Public Works, announces the total closure of the road that connects Maciot and Playa Blanca, in both directions, from this Monday, April 28 until the completion of the works.
“The company will try to expedite the resurfacing work on this busy road as much as possible, so in the meantime I apologize to the public for the inconvenience,” the councilor asserted.
Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and use the signposted alternative route through Las Breñas, or the LZ-2 that connects Yaiza and Playa Blanca. This alternative route has been properly conditioned to support additional traffic and ensure the safety of users.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote is aware that this temporary closure may cause inconvenience, but emphasizes that "these improvements are crucial to ensure a quality and durable road infrastructure". The population is urged to follow traffic signs and signals, and to exercise extreme caution during this period. Information will be provided promptly on the reopening of the road once the works are completed.
“Soon we will have a completely safe and conditioned road to support the thousands of cars that circulate daily,” Medina concluded.
