The Teguise City Council has opened a new call for transportation aid for students residing in the municipality, corresponding to the 2025-2026 academic year. With an investment of 350,000 euros, the Council reaffirms its commitment to equal opportunities and to supporting families who bear the costs of travel derived from their sons' and daughters' education.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, stated that "with this aid, the City Council seeks to support families and ensure that no student's education is limited due to economic reasons or distance. This is a measure that allows young people to continue their studies with peace of mind, alleviating part of the burden of daily transportation and ensuring that they can fully focus on their academic and personal development."
For her part, the Councilor for Education, Mar Boronat, stated that "these grants allow students and families to face educational travel with greater peace of mind, reinforcing our commitment to equal opportunities and educational quality."
Amounts corresponding to each student
The aid will be distributed based on the distance to the educational center: 150 euros for those who study in Lanzarote, 500 euros for those who study outside the Island but within the Archipelago, and 600 euros for students who train outside of the Canary Islands.
Interested parties have 30 business days to submit the application and required documentation through the electronic office or in person at the City Hall offices.
With this action, the Teguise City Council reaffirms its commitment to accessible education, to the families of the municipality, and to the future of new generations. More information available on the website www.teguise.es
