The Popular Party has once again trusted the current mayor Ástrid Pérez as a candidate for Mayor of Arrecife in the press conference held with Poli Suárez, general secretary of the formation in the Canary Islands, from the capital of Lanzarote.
"I want to thank the president of the PP of the Canary Islands, the PP of the Canary Islands and the PP of Lanzarote and La Graciosa for the support they once again give me to lead the list to the Arrecife City Council as a candidate for mayor to continue building our city model", Pérez began in her speech.
Pérez has reviewed the measures she has taken since the beginning of her term as mayor of the capital city of Lanzarote. "The first measure as mayor was to open the avenue after the closure led by the Government that at that time was made up of the PSOE and CC", the mayor pointed out.
"Despite all the obstacles, Arrecife is moving forward, although some insist on minimizing the existing improvements. The situation of the city was particularly difficult and complicated, with years and years of neglect and mismanagement, but we took on the challenge in 2019 always thinking about the good of the citizens and our city. We have first gone to attend to the urgent and then advancing in the important", Pérez explained.
The mayor of Arrecife has pointed out the adversities they have had to face, such as the pandemic and the subsequent economic crisis. "I am deeply proud of the role that the Arrecife City Council has played with our citizens".
For his part, Suárez has explained that from the PP of the Canary Islands they will announce from this week the candidates for the Mayoralty of the capital cities. "As you all know, the Popular Party of the Canary Islands has established deadlines that we are meeting and also strictly adhering to. We finished the year 2022 with the presentations of candidates number one to the Parliament, to the Cabildos and to the provincial capitals. And from today, since it is the first presentation we have of the island capital, we will continue presenting the number ones to the city councils of those capitals", Suárez pointed out.
"Arrecife, after 2019, has seen how things can be done from the love of its people, its roots, its traditions. Today Arrecife is better than four years ago. You have the full support of the Popular Party of the Canary Islands and we wish the city of Arrecife the best from May 28", Suárez concluded in his speech.
