The mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, has decided to remove the housing competence from councilor Leticia Padilla after requesting this Wednesday to the Government of the Canary Islands "to grant and award a direct subsidy, for an approximate amount of 349,877.56 euros, for the rehabilitation of homes in the Titerroy neighborhood"
As will be recalled, Astrid Pérez delegated the management of the Titerroy homes to Leticia Padilla on October 25 by decree, although the councilor never assumed them and even requested the revocation of the appointment.
“In my effort to ensure that families can see their homes rehabilitated as soon as possible, I have had to remove the competence from the councilor delegated in this matter, Leticia Padilla, and, therefore, I have removed it, solely and exclusively to request this direct subsidy, which we hope will be granted as soon as possible,” declares Astrid Pérez.
From the Arrecife City Council, they point out that "several meetings have been requested with the Housing Department of the Government of the Canary Islands without obtaining a response, and even so, work continues to try to resolve this issue as soon as possible."
"I have always been in search of solutions within the legal margin that the Arrecife City Council has and I will not give up,” Astrid Pérez pointed out.
However, for this, it is now required by the Arrecife City Council, "that the Government of the Canary Islands send the approval of the agreement required by article 22 of Law 38/2003 General of Subsidies, in order to formalize the granting of the subsidy and establish the minimum content legally required."
