The mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, has signed this Tuesday the decree in which the management of the Titerroy homes is delegated to the councilor of the Lanzarote En Pie municipal group, Leticia Padilla. Minutes after learning the news, the Lanzarote En Pie councilor has submitted a letter to the Secretariat requesting the revocation of the appointment.
This appointment is argued in the decree "considering all the debate generated during the ordinary plenary session of September 2022, as well as the motion presented by the Municipal Government group, which aimed to create a Working Commission, in which all the groups of the Plenary would participate, to urge the Government of the Canary Islands to rehabilitate Titerroy; as well as the motion presented by LEP to initiate the necessary procedures to modify or create subsidies by free competition to provide a solution to those evicted from the Titerroy homes"
"Therefore, this Mayor's Office, considering the commitments assumed in the September plenary session, in relation to the need for the aforementioned project to be led by the Lanzarote en Pie councilor Leticia Padill, as well as the entire trajectory of the aforementioned problem, which for years remains unresolved, considers it necessary to create, within the government, a service whose purpose is to manage the problem of the Titterroy homes, since the problem is such that it deserves to be treated in a singular way", thus concludes the decree.
Now it remains to be seen if the decree will finally be revoked after the request of the councilor Leticia Padilla. This Thursday, October 27, the Lanzarote en Pie councilor will hold a meeting with the mayor to discuss this issue.
