The Arrecife City Council will award the official distinctions of Gold Medal to the Arrecife Civil Protection Group, and Bronze Medals to its chief, Osbaldo Espino Delgado, and to the Municipal Civil Protection Coordinator, and technical director of the PEMU, Marcos Antonio Rosario Galindo.

These high official recognitions have been approved this Friday in the plenary session of the Arrecife City Council. The motion, supported and defended by the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Kevin Cortés, had the unanimous support of all the political groups represented in the Municipal Corporation of Arrecife.

The Municipal Government of Arrecife, led by Mayor Yonathan de León, is scheduling, after the plenary agreement held this morning, the institutional act where these high official distinctions included in the Regulation of Honors and Distinctions of the Arrecife City Council will be awarded.

Mayor Yonathan de León has highlighted that, with these official medals, "the City Council recognizes the outstanding contribution of Civil Protection, its chief and its technical coordinator, as well as all its members in the emergency situations that the city has experienced, and the support and deployment in security tasks in mass events, not only in the city of Arrecife but also in other municipalities of Lanzarote where their presence has been required."

For his part, the Councilor for Security and Emergencies of the Arrecife City Council, to which the Civil Protection Group is attached, highlighted during the plenary session that this recognition to the "orange angels," an affectionate expression with which he highlighted the members of Civil Protection for the color of their uniform, has highlighted the "valuable and outstanding dedication and collaboration of all the members of Civil Protection of Arrecife," a unit that has grown in numbers in recent times.

Directly, he mentioned the Bronze Medal, both to the Chief of Civil Protection, Osbaldo Espino Delgado, and to the Municipal Civil Protection Coordinator, and technical director of the PEMU, Marcos Antonio Rosario Galindo, of whom he praised their "many professional merits and the relationship of services they have offered in the city of Arrecife in recent years, among them, he mentioned the great work done during the COVID 19 pandemic, among many other services."

During the plenary session this Friday, the honorees were present in the plenary hall, receiving the gratitude and recognition of the spokespersons of the political groups.
