The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, led by Maite Corujo, reminds entities interested in the Spanish language class service aimed at non-Spanish-speaking population, whose tender is published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, that they have until 13:00 Canary Islands time, on Friday, February 27, to submit their offers.

The submission will be made exclusively electronically, through said Platform, which is why the Department of Social Welfare recommends that bidding entities register their proposals with sufficient time to avoid possible technical incidents or blockages in the last hours of the deadline.

The contract aims to provide Spanish language teaching services for adults who need to improve their linguistic competence to function in their daily lives, access employment, carry out administrative procedures, or participate in the community. The tender has a base budget of 49,947.60 euros, taxes included, and an estimated value of 93,360 euros for the entire planned execution period.

Maite Corujo highlights the importance of maintaining and strengthening this service, which has consolidated in recent years as a fundamental tool for integration, and emphasizes that “these Spanish classes allow many people to break language barriers, better understand the environment around them and actively participate in the life of Arrecife. It is not just about learning a language, but about gaining autonomy, self-esteem and opportunities”.

The councilwoman has also highlighted the good result of previous editions, in which the service has had high demand and continuous monitoring by the students, consolidating itself
as one of the most valued programs within the municipal actions to support the migrant population.

“From Social Welfare we will continue betting on projects that favor coexistence and social cohesion,” added Corujo, who has encouraged entities specialized in training and social intervention to participate in this tender. “Joint work with the associative fabric and with experienced entities is key to reaching more people and to adapt the content to the real needs of the students.”

The tender sets a two-year execution period for the service, with the possibility of extensions under the terms specified in the tender documents. The contract is framed within teaching services
for adults and also includes criteria linked to social integration, equality, and the promotion of coexistence, both in the definition of the object and in the special conditions of execution.

To consult all the documentation and tender documents, bidding entities must access the contractor profile of the Ayuntamiento de Arrecife on the Plataforma de Contratación del Sector Público.
