The Arrecife City Council "has been forced" to suspend the celebration of the Sunset Festival, which had Andy y Lucas' concert as headliner, which was scheduled for this weekend.
According to them, "the cancellation of the event is due to a problem completely beyond the control of the Government group, since the Arrecife City Council had all the necessary permits for the concerts this weekend to be held."
In addition, they emphasize from the Consistory that "even though the production company did not send the request to hold the concerts to the capital's City Council with sufficient time, the Municipal Corporation has worked hard to ensure that the event could be held, even with the handicap of the late arrival of documentation by the production company."
The mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, announces that she will purge the necessary and appropriate responsibilities "given the high degree of damage" that the suspension of the event entails for the citizens of Arrecife. They add that the capital's Consistory "tried until the last hour of this Friday morning to hold the event, although unfortunately it has been forced to end up suspending it."
The suspended concerts are Andy y Lucas' this Saturday and the one on Sunday that was in charge of "La Banda de los Piojillos".
The Arrecife City Council "deeply regrets having to cancel the event and reiterates that it will take action on the matter to purge the appropriate responsibilities, not only to clarify what happened, but to prevent it from happening again in future events."
