The Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture and the Arrecife Civic Center will host this weekend the 'Comuni-CanLGTBIQ+' conference, an event aimed at promoting the treatment and promotion of LGTBIQ+ diversity in media and social networks.
Organized by the LGTBI+ association 'Lánzate', these conferences are supported by the Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Culture, and funded by the General Directorate of Diversity of the Government of the Canary Islands.
This event will bring together communication managers from local administrations, city councils and island councils, as well as professionals from various fields of communication, students, social media communicators and influencers, with the aim of recognizing and adopting good practices in the treatment of diversity in the media.
The program will include presentations, round tables, collaborative work sessions and workshops given by leading experts in communication; including Alfonso Palazón from the Rey Juan Carlos I University, Cristina Mahelo, ARTtivist and communicator and influencer, Marc Serena, journalist from Discovery Channel and documentary filmmaker, and Tomás Galván, journalist from Canarias Radio. In addition, the trans linguist from the Uniwersytet Warszawski, Yaghia Asdrubal, will participate to conduct workshops on critical analysis of content generation in the media.
The conference will take place on Friday, February 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture in Arrecife, and on Saturday, February 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Arrecife Civic Center.
