Arrecife will premiere next fall shade areas in the playgrounds. The Municipal Government, led by Mayor Yonathan de León, complies with one of the demands of the conejeras families and has awarded the installation of structures in about 30 playgrounds located in all the neighborhoods of the capital of Lanzarote.
The award, with an investment of nearly one million euros, has been made through three lots and the company will proceed this spring to start the execution of the works, which will be supervised by the Department of Children's Parks, led by Councilor Roberto Herbón.
With this initiative, the playgrounds throughout the city will be provided with shade areas by installing large structures over the play areas, where the little ones will be covered from the weather, and most importantly on an island with high solar exposure, to be covered from the sun during the leisure and play time of the child population.
From the City Council of Arrecife, within the modernization plans in the neighborhoods and the city center, the tender for these new facilities was announced last December, with an investment of one million euros.
The award of the Work project conditioning of public spaces with fixed open structures for the municipality of Arrecife with 3 lots, all the neighborhoods of Arrecife, will premiere this coming autumn these new equipments that will contribute to reduce solar radiation on the users of the playgrounds.
It is well known that Lanzarote, and the Canary Archipelago as a whole, enjoys good climatic conditions throughout the year. Solar radiation - due to its geographical location and latitude, is very high and frequent in the Canary Islands. For this reason, the City Council of Arrecife designed this plan to cover with structures that provide shade over the children's attractions. This new work complements the one recently executed where all the playgrounds of Arrecife have been renovated and modernized, with about 30 play areas distributed in different areas of the capital of Lanzarote.
Modernization of all playgrounds
Mayor Yonathan de León has detailed that "there are many works underway for the modernization of the neighborhoods, with actions in accessibility, renovation of the asphalt pavement in about 150 streets, construction of new public facilities, renovation and expansion of sports facilities, and renovation of playgrounds, where all have premiered synthetic pavement, safer and more hygienic." And now joins the placement of shade structures in the children's areas, a demand of the conejeras families, emphasized the first capital mayor
"The investment in all the playgrounds has been around 3 million euros, joining the integral renovation of the park areas and this new work of installation of shade areas. In recent months all the neighborhoods of Arrecife have premiered these renovated playgrounds", highlights the Councilor of the Area, Roberto Herbón.
