The Department of Seniors of Arrecife, led by Rosmen Quevedo, held this Monday at the Youth Center the draw and allocation of the 200 places assigned to the City Council corresponding to the Imserso Social Tourism Program 2025-2026, which were fully filled.
The event, which was also attended by the Deputy Mayor, Echedey Eugenio, also served to present the destinations, dates, and conditions of this new edition of the program, which will take place between November 2025 and May 2026.
Echedey Eugenio highlighted during the meeting "the enormous success of the two campaigns organized by the City Council since we resumed our participation in this program," and announced that, given the high demand registered, "Arrecife will request to expand its places for future editions, since the reception by our elders has been extraordinary and demonstrates the interest that this initiative awakens."
“Excellent response”
For his part, the Councilor for Seniors, Rosmen Quevedo, expressed his satisfaction with "the excellent response that the seniors of Arrecife have given to this initiative, as has been happening with any activity that we propose to them." Quevedo thanked the participating people for their involvement and highlighted that "this type of program promotes coexistence, well-being, and the active participation of our seniors, who are an essential part of the social and community life of Arrecife."
Destinations
During the event, the destinations included in this edition of the program were presented, which will allow seniors from Arrecife to enjoy cultural and leisure trips to La Rioja, Cáceres, Castellón, Málaga, Mallorca, Burgos, Tarragona, and Huelva, with stays of five, six, and eight days in three- and four-star hotels. The trips, with round-trip flights from Gran Canaria, will take place between November 23, 2025, and May 11, 2026.
Rosmen Quevedo recalled that the Department of Seniors maintains "a firm commitment to the well-being and quality of life of the elderly in Arrecife, promoting activities that facilitate their active participation and social integration."
