The Project Planning and Coordination Unit has granted a subsidy to the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa with the aim of promoting social and sustainable growth on both islands.
The agreement has an amount of up to 460,000 euros, which aims to establish an operational and concrete framework that allows addressing structural reforms that diversify the productive model.
“In this way we will promote and facilitate the materialization of different projects and actions defined that benefit both islands”, said the vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, who recently held a meeting with the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, José Valle, to formalize the agreement.
The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, as an entity that has an important commitment to the development of both islands, with extensive collaboration and participation in projects with public and business entities, is in a unique position to develop this initiative.
“It will also be done by integrating and involving the main social and economic agents of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, thus allowing it to be an agreement that brings together all sectors”, added Medina.
Given the nature of the project, the Cabildo of Lanzarote will grant an advance payment of 260,000 euros of the subsidy, and the rest of the amount will be made in three fractional payments that will respond to the pace of execution of the subsidized actions.
