The San Bartolomé City Council has granted a license for the implementation of the Aldi hypermarket in the industrial area of Playa Honda. In this way, it would become the second establishment of this chain on the island, after the recent opening of the Aldi in Arrecife.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, points out that "the arrival of large surfaces to the municipality is, without a doubt, a great incentive for the generation of new jobs."
"Having a greater number of low-price shops and competition in the municipality will favor the reduction of the price of the shopping basket, especially at a time when the rise in costs means an extra effort for the population," emphasizes Pérez.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Marlene Romero, values that the new commercial area and the improvements made in the surroundings of the industrial area of Playa Honda encourage new businesses to join this area of the municipality.
The new establishment will be located on Avenida Mamerto Cabrera Medina in Playa Honda. The commercial area of Playa Honda "is a strategic point for the numerous businesses that are gradually being established in this part of the town", the council added in a statement.
Throughout the year, "this space will have new additions that will favor its rise", concluded the San Bartolomé City Council.
