The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, stated this Sunday that, if the founder of Open Arms, Óscar Camps, were in a situation of risk, he "also" would be willing to save him, but to hand him over to a judge and "do everything possible to ensure that he was in jail for collaborating with human trafficking mafias."
In statements made to journalists in the port of Arrecife, where the Open Arms ship is located, Santiago Abascal defended that "the migratory invasion" is "the main problem for thousands of Canary Islanders" and that only Vox has a clear message in this regard, which he summarized in three concepts: "repatriation, deportation, and remigration."
"Repatriation of all illegal immigrants, deportation for all legal immigrants who commit crimes, and remigration for those who have come to Spain, even if they are legal, to live off the social aid that Spaniards need, because Spaniards are increasingly in need," added the leader of Vox.
Abascal assures that "mass immigration is the mother of all problems" and that his party will fight whoever promotes or finances it, whether they are "globalist millionaires disguised as philanthropists who pay some of these NGOs, such as those in this port (Open Arms), or traitorous politicians disguised as loyal and defenders of the common good who, with the taxes of Spaniards, call for, finance, and maintain this invasion."
"Vox has come here to say that we will radically change all immigration policies and that, of course, we will confiscate and sink the ships of the new slave traders, and we will also return the stolen voice to Spaniards so that telling the truth is not prohibited," added the political leader.
Minutes before Abascal appeared before the press, the founder of Open Arms, Óscar Camps, had publicly invited him to take advantage of being next to his ship to come aboard and verify that they are not "the enemy, but a mirror of the best of Spanish society."
The leader of Vox responded to those words and to one of the posters that can be seen in the exhibition that the ship displays on board: images generated by artificial intelligence of characters such as the multimillionaire Elon Musk, the president of the USA, Donald Trump; or Abascal himself drowning in the ocean, along with texts in which Open Arms says that they would also rescue them.
"I would also be willing to save Mr. Óscar Camps in a situation of risk, but to, immediately afterwards, make him available to the courts and to do everything possible to ensure that he was in jail for collaborating with human trafficking mafias," added Abascal, who maintains that the only thing his ship has done in the Canary Islands these months is "propaganda," "burn fuel," and "contaminate protected waters in precious areas for the Canary Islanders."
And he has done so, from his point of view, "with the help of taxes stolen from Spaniards by politicians from the Partido Popular, the PSOE, Coalición Canarias, and Nueva Canarias," parties that, in the case of the islands, maintain unity of action within the so-called Canary Pact for Migration.
In his speech, journalists reminded him that, in an operation carried out by the Police and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office in the Canary Islands against the alleged diversion of funds destined to the reception of migrant minors, a former leader of Vox in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is involved.
"You have said it," Abascal replied, "a former official who apparently could not steal in Vox and went somewhere else to steal, but this operation proves us right."
Afterwards, he responded to the words that the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, dedicated to him, who called him a "fascist" for asking for the Open Arms ship to be sunk.
For Santiago Abascal, "Mr. Clavijo is responsible for insecurity, he is responsible for the rapes, he is responsible for the increase in housing costs, he is responsible for the collapse of social services and health services," all of which Vox blames on immigration.
