The feminist collective Flor de Fuego, which is in charge of the organization of Women's Day next March 8 in Lanzarote, has announced the different events that will take place
The day will take place this Sunday in the Parque Islas Canarias, with the following program:
Banner and T-shirt workshops
At 11:30 a.m. a creative space will be held where attendees can prepare their own banners and protest T-shirts. Materials for banners and some T-shirts will be available, although the number is limited, so it is recommended to bring your own T-shirt to be screen-printed there.
Demonstration
The march will depart at 12:40 p.m. from the same Parque Islas Canarias and will end in front of the Cines Atlántida.
Performance and reading of manifesto
At the end of the demonstration, a performance inspired by a Maori dance (haka) will be held as a collective action of protest and struggle. Subsequently, the reading of the manifesto will take place.
In addition, the organization invites all interested women to participate in the last rehearsal of the performance (haka), which will take place this Friday, March 6, at 5:00 p.m. at the Centro Sociocultural de Argana Baja. If they are curious or wish to join, they will be more than welcome.
