The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has established a yellow alert for wind for this weekend in Lanzarote. While five islands will be on yellow alert for high temperatures, the island of volcanoes and two other Canary Islands will be on alert for maximum gusts of wind.
Specifically, the alert will be in effect between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM this Saturday, August 8.
The island could experience maximum gusts of 70 kilometers per hour, with northerly winds, especially affecting inland and southeastern areas of the island.
This wind alert comes after the island experienced the first heatwave of the summer over the course of a week, following two previous heat episodes of shorter duration.
As for temperatures, this Saturday Lanzarote will be between 23 and 31 degrees. With an ultraviolet radiation index of ten, very high.
