The debate on the use of face masks indoors has intensified in recent days and even the Congress approved last week a motion Citizens that urged the central government to eliminate them, with the vote in favor of the PSOE, the abstention of Unidas Podemos and the vote against parties such as the PP and CC.
In the midst of the health and political discussion, which could be resolved this Wednesday at the Interterritorial Health Council, La Voz de Lanzarote has conducted a survey through the stories of its Instagram account to find out what the people of Lanzarote think about it.
The results reflected that 67% of respondents think it is time to remove face masks indoors, while 33% believe that, for the moment, they should remain mandatory.
1,602 Instagram users participated in the survey, of which 1,074 voted in favor of removing them and 528 against.
In addition, they were asked if they would keep the masks in any particular situation or place, even though they were in favor of removing them. The answers were varied, although the majority agreed that they should continue to be used in situations of crowding or in spaces where vulnerable people are treated.
Specifically, the most repeated example was health and social health centers, such as hospitals, health centers and nursing homes, although others also added public transport and airplanes.
However, for the moment we will have to wait for the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System this Wednesday, April 6 to know if the face masks will finally become optional and if they will be maintained in some scenarios.
