Vehicle removal on Portugal Street

This Sunday morning, the vehicles parked on Portugal Street and adjacent streets in Arrecife are being removed due to the expected rains, according to the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium.

This action is carried out "as a prospective flood risk management to prevent material damage, and to facilitate the work of the different action groups," they add from the entity.

The Local Police is proceeding to locate the owners of the parked vehicles to leave the roads free and those whose owners are not located will be removed from the roads with a crane and taken to the municipal depot at no cost to the owners. The list of removed cars will be passed to the CECOPIN, as reported by the Consortium.

The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, insists on "taking extreme precautions and carrying out the recommendations that we provide through the official media promptly as it is an unpredictable phenomenon."
