Maritime Rescue has rescued around 110 people in Moroccan waters this Saturday morning, including 23 women and six or seven minors, who were traveling aboard two boats bound for the Canary Islands.
Sources from the state company have specified that the notice was received shortly before six in the morning, local time, when a ship sailing through the area reported that it had two precarious boats at its side that were asking for help.
As they were in the Moroccan rescue zone, the Spanish state company informed them of the presence of these two boats, but Rabat officially requested shortly after that the rescue be carried out by Spanish units as they could not send resources to the point where the two precarious boats were located, so the Las Palmas Maritime Rescue center mobilized the Talía coast guard.
The Salvamento vessel arrived in the area where the ship and the two boats were located at around 09:40 hours (local time) and, after thanking the ship for having accompanied the migrants, proceeded to rescue these people.
The sources consulted have detailed that these are two boats, one with about 40 people on board and the other with about 70, of which 23 are women and six or seven, possible minors, all of them of sub-Saharan origin.
