Two boats intercepted near the coast of Lanzarote

Maritime Rescue has rescued this Sunday two other precarious boats in waters near Lanzarote, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.

Initial reports indicate that about one hundred people would be traveling in the two boats and have been transferred to Puerto Naos where they have been assisted by Red Cross volunteers.

The first of them was picked up by the Salvamar al Nair, assisting the 51 occupants it had on board at around 8:20 a.m.

On its way back to port, the Salvamar located and assisted another precarious boat adrift in which another 70 people were traveling, according to initial data from the crew of the Salvamento ship.

Once attended by the Red Cross, three of the people who came in the boats have been transferred to the Molina Hospital for different pathologies.
