Pepe Artiles, director of the Musical Union of Lanzarote, honored in the X Classical Concerts Cycle

The emotional act featured the piano intervention by Melba Artiles, daughter of the honoree, the horn professor María José González and the double bassist Ivanoff Rodríguez

The X Classical Concerts Cycle, organized by the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote (OCL) with the collaboration of Arrecife Culture, led by councilwoman Abigail González, paid tribute last Tuesday at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture to the director of the Musical Union of Lanzarote, Pepe Artiles.

The emotional event featured a piano performance by Melba Artiles, daughter of the honoree, horn professor María José González and double bassist Ivanoff Rodríguez, who performed a wide repertoire with works by Strauss, Ravel, Albéniz or Carlos Gardel among other composers.

This Friday, the third concert will also take place at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture, in which the musical career of the former director of the Arrecife City Council's Pulso y Púa Orchestra, Juan Arrocha, will be recognized, and which will feature Pablo Araya on violin and Josu Okiñena on piano.

The fourth and last concert of the Cycle will take place next April 11 and will feature the String Quartet of the Lanzarote Classical Orchestra, made up of María Estela Lastre and Silvia Cánovas on violin, Santiago Medina (viola) and David Barrera (cello), who will perform works by Mozart and Dvorak.
