Titerroy celebrated, last Sunday at 12:00, the mass in honor of the patron saint of the capital's neighborhood, San José Obrero.
The celebration of the Eucharist on such a special day was presided over by the titular parish priest, Manuel Arencibia. The church showed off its best clothes with the allowed capacity full, with the parishioners very animated participating in the songs and in the readings of the festivity of San José Obrero, patron saint of Titerroy and of the Universal Church.
The parish priest highlighted in the homily "the important role of San José Obrero, also known as The Artisan". He argued that the first Christian writers usually speak of him as "carpenter". And it is in his honor that the liturgical celebration of the Catholic Church is held, established by Pope Pío XII, in 1955, on May 1, thus coinciding with the day that the world of work has set as its own holiday.
The celebration of the Eucharist ended with the singing of the hymn to the Holy Patron. A continuación, the parish priest thanked all those present, organizations and individuals "for the collaboration received in these parties". Hernán Lorenzo neighbor and herald of the festivities made an act of presence, in addition to personalities of the institution such as the Councilor for Festivities of the City Council of Arrecife, Encarna Páez, the Councilor for Internal Affairs, Health, Animal Welfare, New Technologies and Transparency, Echedey Eugenio. The president of the Neighborhood Association, Ismael Montero, was also present.
Once the mass was finished, the image of San José Obrero went out in procession through the streets surrounding the church, headed by the Music Band "La Unión", directed by Professor Pepe Artiles.
