The gusts of wind reach almost 90 kilometers per hour in Lanzarote

The strong gusts have caused the firefighters to have had to intervene in different points of the island.

The DANA that has been affecting Lanzarote and La Graciosa since this Thursday has left wind gusts close to 90 kilometers per hour, which has caused several incidents on the island.

According to data from the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología, in areas such as Aeropuerto de Lanzarote, the gusts have reached 85 kilometers per hour at 12:00 p.m. this Friday, while at the same time up to 78 kilometers per hour in Playa Blanca.

In the town of Tías the wind has also blown with intensity, leaving gusts of up to 76 kilometers per hour during the morning of this Friday.

As for Haría, the maximum gust has reached 76 kilometers per hour at 18:00 hours this Thursday and 68 kilometers per hour in Tinajo and La Graciosa on the same day.

 

Incidents due to the wind in Lanzarote

The firefighters have had to act this Thursday and Friday in different areas of the island due to the incidents caused by the strong gusts of wind.

In the case of one of the gas stations in Tahíche located on the LZ-1 road, the wind has torn off on the morning of this Friday part of the roof of one of the car washes of the gas station, as reported by the Consorcio de Emergencias.

Furthermore, during this Friday they have intervened in other incidents such as windows about to fall due to the wind or detached cornices.

The firefighters also acted this Thursday in other areas of the island such as Yaiza or Arrecife due to different incidents caused by the wind, such as the removal of broken spotlights, poles about to fall, facade detachments or fallen cables and trees.
