The Arrecife City Council has planned the visit of the Three Wise Men to all the neighborhoods of Arrecife this Tuesday, January 5. Given the preventive measures for the control of covid, the Department of Celebrations has planned an "alternative and different parade" to that of other years. In this 2021, the Kings of the East will depart from the Arrecife Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. and will make an itinerary through all the neighborhoods of the capital of Lanzarote.
Melchor, Baltasar and Gaspar will be received by the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, and the deputy mayor and councilor for Culture and Celebrations, Alfredo Mendoza, this Tuesday, at 10:15 a.m., and after this official reception, they will begin the tour of all the neighborhoods. The Three Wise Men will go in three convertibles so that the children can greet them from their terraces and balconies without having to go out into the streets, to avoid mass crowds on public roads.
The entourage of Their Majesties The Three Wise Men will be accompanied by two trucks, where Baltasar, Gaspar and Melchor will bring the thousands of gifts for the people of Lanzarote. During their tour, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will also collect the letters that the little ones have deposited in the fourteen royal mailboxes placed by the municipality. In addition, at the end of their walk through all the neighborhoods, they will greet the little ones at the Arrecife House of Culture, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Morning itinerary
In the morning, the Three Wise Men will tour the urbanizations of La Concha (Bergantín, Chimida, Fernando Díaz Cutillas, Néstor Álamo, Manuel de Falla and Tomás Bretón streets). After passing through the area bordering San Bartolomé, the entourage will pass through the Playa del Cable urbanization, passing through the Arrecife road to the airport and Calle Drago.
In the morning, the Three Wise Men will also pass through the San Francisco Javier neighborhood, touring Triana, Carlos V, Alfonso XIII, Isabel La Católica streets (mailbox collection at Fruteria San Francisco Javier) and returning along Calle Triana.
In Argana Baja, they will tour Taro, Mararía, Safantía streets (mailbox collection at Dulcería Panadería Hojaldre), Salazones and Alfonso XII, while in Argana Alta they will pass through Tenderete, Tajaste, Alonso Quesada, Luján Pérez and Víctor Hugo streets (mailbox collection at Supermercado La Tienda)
From there, the royal entourage will move to the Maneje neighborhood, to tour Guadalajara, Iguazú and Guanareme streets (mailbox collection at Supermercado La Lonja). Their tour will continue through Tinasoria, on Mosta streets (school area), Mina (mailbox collection at Supermercado Proxim) and Tornajo
Their last stop in the morning will be in the Altavista neighborhood, where the Three Wise Men will pass through Chafarí, Coronel Capaz streets (mailbox collection at El Almacén del Queso) and Blasco Ibáñez.
Afternoon tour
In the afternoon, starting at 4:30 p.m., Melchor, Gaspar and Baltarsar will continue the route through the Los Alonso neighborhood, where they will tour the Los Mármoles Highway and the Donantes de Sangre street (mailbox collection at Bazar dulcería Comito).
Later, they will visit the Valterra neighborhood, where they will pass through La Añaza, Pérez Galdós streets (mailbox collection at Dulcería Soli), Extremadura and El Malacabado, to continue through the Titerroy neighborhood, where they will tour Avenida Alcalde Ginés de la Hoz and Timbayba, José Pereyra Galviaty streets (mailbox collection at Frutería Los Meleros), Carlos III, Tinamala, Monseñor Oscar Romero and again Carlos III street.
In the neighborhoods of La Vega and El Lomo, the Three Wise Men will visit Gómez Ulla and Norte streets (mailbox collection at Minimarket Ponce), and then continue their route through Las Salinas, where they will pass through Manolo Millares, Guenia, Caldera de Taburiente streets (mailbox collection at Supermercado Los Vecinos) and Quesera.
In the evening, the Kings of the East will be in the center of the capital, touring the Fairgrounds, Avenida La Marina, Calle Coll and Avenida Olof Palme, in the direction of the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture, where between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. they will greet the children and their families.
The order of visits to the neighborhoods is subject to any modifications that the Local Police may establish, with the sole exception of the tour of the center of Arrecife, which will take place after Gaspar, Baltasar and Melchor visit all the neighborhoods to be close to the families of Arrecife at the beginning of 2021.
The Department of Celebrations requests that families ensure that the little ones see the Three Wise Men from the terraces, portals or balconies of their homes, to avoid crowds on the roads that the Royal Entourage travels and thus guarantee distances and security measures against Covid-19. Likewise, it is recalled that all people must wear masks to avoid new infections.
