The three bodies of the migrants who died a month ago on the coasts of Lanzarote repatriated

A Court in Arrecife gave the green light to the repatriation of the three young people, a woman and two men between 20 and 25 years old, to Morocco so that they could be buried by their family

The Court of Instruction number 3 of Arrecife has given the order to repatriate the three corpses of the young migrants who died on the coasts of Lanzarote and whose bodies were transferred to land at the beginning of November. The responsible judge had not processed the orders to bury the bodies while waiting for their relatives to claim them.

During the first half of last month, the bodies of two of the migrants, a 25-year-old woman and the body of another young man, had already been identified. Both drowned on the coasts of the island. Her corpse was rescued along with two friends after the boat in which she was trying to reach the island sank, while his body was found floating in the sea next to that of another young man by some fishermen in the area.

Finally, the three bodies have already been identified and the remains have been returned to Morocco, their country of origin so that their families could bury them.

Meanwhile, in the month of November alone, 76 migrants have disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean trying to reach the coasts of the Canary Islands and their bodies have not been recovered, thus increasing the number of missing persons in one of the deadliest migratory routes in the world.

The relatives of four young migrants who left Morocco for Lanzarote have been searching desperately and unsuccessfully for their children since October 25. They left Morocco aboard a rubber boat, but their family has not heard from them since that day.
