The swell has forced the establishment of a yellow alert until next Wednesday in Lanzarote. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts that the rough seas will remain from 9:00 PM tonight until at least 5:00 AM on Wednesday morning.

The Aemet has reported that the warning for swell will have a low danger, yellow level, with a probability of occurrence between 40 and 70%.Thus, for the first three days of the week, **combined northwest sea** is expected, with waves that could reach **up to four meters in height**

It should be recalled that the island has been chaining notices and their consequent alerts for waves for several weeks. In these types of cases, the Lanzarote Security and Emergencies Consortium usually reminds citizens to take precautions, to avoid approaching the coastline, walking on breakwaters and areas that may be critical points where waves break.

It should be remembered that just a week ago, a young American lost his life in Los Charcones, in Yaiza, while the island was on orange alert and on alert for waves.
