The audience of the 10th Lanzarote Film Festival delivered its verdict. "(En)terrados" (Spain, 2009), by director Álex Lora, was considered the best national short film presented in competition, according to the attendees. This story, only 11 minutes long, which tells us about the difficulties of three people to find an apartment to live in, has won the favor of the viewers and has won the Audience Award for Best National Short Film, in this tenth edition of the film event of the island of volcanoes.

With Panos Arokautos, Rosa García and Jacome as main performers, with photography by Víctor Cassola and with script and production by Álex Lora himself, "(En)terrados" describes the housing problems of large cities and those of coexistence. A film with a message and claustrophobic setting with which Lora has won the hearts of the Lanzarote audience.

The young director Álex Lora, born in Barcelona in 1979, studied Audiovisual Communication in his hometown, although he had already made his first steps in filmmaking with an old Super 8 camera in poor condition. After completing a master's degree in film direction in 2008, he made several short format works, including "Mirada robada" or "Nómadas".

The other short films awarded by the public have been "Get Out" and "El corazón de Anita". The latter won in the Canarian Shorts section and its author is the young filmmaker Josué Ramos. The short film, which has won several awards in different competitions, tells us about the relationship that is established between an elderly lady and a young boy who wait at the bus stop under a scorching sun.

On the other hand, in the International Short Films section, viewers have valued "Get Out" (France, 2010) as the best work presented in this tenth edition. This animated short is a choral work by five directors, Tristan Reinarz, Charlotte Boisson, Fanny Roche, Pascal Han Kwan and Julien Fourvel.

"Get Out" tells in 8 minutes the story of Gary, a madman locked in a padded cell. Gary has developed a phobia of doors. His psychiatrist tries to cure him, although without much success.
