A total of 1,311 calls from women victims of gender-based violence have accumulated at the 112 emergency service. Between January and October of this year, 2025, emergency and urgent calls continued to exceed one thousand on the island of Lanzarote and grew compared to the same period of the previous year (1,160). This is according to the Canary Islands Institute for Equality, with figures published on the Lanzarote Data Center
The majority of calls were for physical violence without sexual assault (591) and non-physical violence (530), while, to a lesser extent, calls were registered for consultations (ten) and to report physical violence with sexual assault (five).
By municipalities, most of the year's calls for gender-based violence took place in Arrecife (731), followed by the tourist areas of Yaiza (169), Tías (157), Teguise (128), and, to a lesser extent, San Bartolomé (77), Haría (31), and Tinajo (18).In addition, according to the Observatory against Domestic and Gender Violence of the General Council of the Judiciary, reports of sexist violence grew by 44.6% between April and June, reaching 4,001 calls.
