The residents of the Los Ancones Association reiterate their complaint to the Teguise City Council for the alleged "quick fix" of the road without properly "conditioning it." "They continue with the "false and more false promises without results or any change", the citizens have criticized.
The machinery "has not passed through the town center", so the "transit of vehicles" to reach the doors of our houses is still "deficient", caused by the "holes that occur due to the lack of maintenance" of the road. Therefore, it is "impossible to access our homes and there is no other road to enter or leave," the neighbors point out.
According to the statements of the councilor responsible for the Roads and Public Works area, Egunenio Robayna, stated last June, that once Oswaldo Betancort took office as president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, he promised to "request again the machinery that was taken from us for agricultural roads". The councilor pointed out that this machinery was "very necessary for this municipality", especially for the coastal areas of Los Ancones.
The association emphasizes that there are "numerous registration entries" that they have presented in the town hall, apart from the "calls and WhatsApp." The councilor's response was that "they did not have the Cabildo machinery operational and also that a different machine from Fuerteventura was going to come with other material." In addition, they are waiting to be able to visualize the "supposed report" of the European funds project that will condition the road with a substitute material for "asphalt" whose duration is equivalent to two years of maintenance.
In turn, the last meeting called by the CC government group was during the electoral period. However, the association assures that "neither the project nor the road repair has occurred since the elections." It also declares "categorically false" that the road is in a "terrible state due to the transit of buggies", after some statements in a media outlet.
The City Council takes as an "excuse" certain specific "marks" that appear because there are people who do "illegal rallies" but the reality is that "the buggies have not passed through the road for years." The association demands that the government "start working" in the town of Los Ancones, looking for "an alternative to the road" because the contribution letter did arrive at the "mailboxes" of the doors of the neighbors' homes.
