The professional opportunities fair "Planéate" celebrates its eighth edition between March 21 and 25. The plenary hall of the Cabildo de Lanzarote hosted this Friday the presentation of this event organized by the Education area, directed by Myriam Barros.
“Planéate is an event that has established itself as a great showcase for our students, so that they receive clear guidance on possible training itineraries and can decide what to do with a view to their academic and professional future,” says the councilor.
“It is a space in which university degree studies, studies of medium, higher, basic and adapted vocational training degrees and other official teachings converge, allowing visiting students to choose the training itinerary that best suits their profile and their professional aspirations,” added Barros.
In this regard, the Minister of Education has stressed the importance of the island's students knowing that there are various study and training options, since “not all students have the same interests, skills or talents." Similarly, she insists that "good information can help students discover areas of interest that they may not have previously considered.”

The VII Professional Opportunities Fair “Planéate 2023” will start on Tuesday, March 21, with an inaugural conference by the writer and disseminator Elsa Punset, an international reference in the field of emotional intelligence.
This conference, under the name “Purposes for these extraordinary times”, will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the Theater Hall of the Multicines Atlántida, with free tickets to attend already sold out.
The following day, the doors of Espacio Planéate will open, which will be located in the parking lot of the Arrecife Fairgrounds, where it will remain until the 25th. During the first three days, access will be exclusively for the 2,774 students of the fourth year of ESO, second year of Baccalaureate, and the Secondary and Basic FP Enclave Classrooms of the island who have registered and who will visit the exhibition, in different shifts, from 08:30 to 13:30 hours.
During the visits, they will receive advice in the different stands that will be installed, in which the participation of more than thirty educational centers will be counted between universities and centers that teach Vocational Training studies and other official teachings.
As a novelty, there will be an information stand on Adapted FP and Basic FP, which will be attended by students from the Enclave Classrooms.
In addition, all students will be able to enjoy mini-talks by the School of Actors of the Canary Islands, which will offer information about their studies; and of the University Foundation of Las Palmas, which will teach the one entitled “Plan your entry into the world of work.”
Finally, on Saturday the 25th there will be an open day for families and the general public from 09:00 to 14:00 hours. Also, at 11:00 a.m. there will be the presence of Javier Santaolalla, physicist and scientific disseminator who participated in the discovery of the Higgs Boson and who will offer the closing talk “The power of ideas.”
