The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Emergencies, has updated the pre-alert situation for storms and rain and extends it to the entire archipelago from 4:00 p.m. this Sunday, December 22. This decision is made taking into account the information provided by the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources, and in application of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA).
Regarding rainfall, there will be weak and moderate rainfall, in the form of rain and showers, the latter could be locally strong.
Regarding storms, there will be isolated strong storms, which implies storms with electrical apparatus accompanied by locally strong rainfall and very strong gusts of wind and hail. Given the nature of these phenomena, there is the possibility that storms of greater intensity may occur on a punctual basis.
