The Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital is experiencing "an increase in healthcare pressure" in the Emergency Room, as well as in the rest of the hospital complex. This has been confirmed to La Voz by sources from the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands.

This increase in patients is largely due to the growth in cases of Influenza A, as well as other respiratory infections. The peak of the flu virus in recent weeks has strained public resources, which continue to provide coverage, but with greater difficulties.

Despite the fact that care at the Hospital is being strained due to the increase in patients, healthcare professionals continue to care for everyone, although it affects waiting times to be seen, especially in the Emergency area.

For this reason, the Ministry of Health of the Regional Government has recommended to the population that, when dealing with symptoms caused by flu viruses that require medical assistance, they should first go to the island's health centers, in order not to collapse hospital emergency rooms, which are intended for more serious cases.
