The Mercedes Medina Díaz Association celebrates ten years since its creation and, to celebrate, has organized a series of events at the Democracia Society of Arrecife, which will take place between this Thursday, October 28 and November 18.
The Association has also prepared a publication of the actions carried out “in favor of education and culture” during these ten years of existence. In that publication, they point out "that the established objectives have been met", since more than fifty students “have benefited from the Mercedes Medina Díaz Scholarships”. In addition, they emphasize that from the organization “an impulse has been given to the Documentary Funds on the History of Education of Lanzarote”.
On the other hand, the Mercedes Medina Association has worked on “bringing Canarian students closer” through the autonomous competition ‘Paint and Take Care of your Island’, a format aimed at students of infant and primary school. The Association has also invited in this decade, according to them, “the main responsible for all areas of knowledge” through different conferences, seminars and workshops.
With these actions, the Mercedes Medina Díaz Association intends to “support and sustain education”, in addition to “supporting the culture of the island, aware of the problems that citizens are going through in times of difficulty”.
