The social and cultural association for women, Mararía, has made public its support for the decision to propose the Torrelavega Society of Culture, Recreation and Sports as the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands 2025. The feminist entity has cemented a bond of affection with the Arrecife club since its first years of working with the women of the island, always finding welcome in its halls for the annual ordinary assemblies, cultural activities and various events.

According to the president of Mararía, Nieves Rosa Hernández, "the successive directions of Torrelavega have always been sensitive and empathetic to feminist demands, and a decisive support in our work of attention, awareness and struggle for a more egalitarian and just society."

She has also highlighted the importance of recognizing the unifying and community-building value of associations like this, "through which generations of Arrecife residents have passed, where the game is played every afternoon, Canary Islands Day is celebrated every year, and every Christmas becomes a meeting place for people who receive the warmth of companionship within its walls."
