The lunar eclipse seen from Uga

In the early hours of Sunday to Monday, a lunar eclipse took place that could be seen in its entirety from the Canary Islands. One of those privileged places was Uga, and graphic designer Rosa García has sent some photographs and a video to La Voz of how it was perceived from the town in the south of Lanzarote.

As the State Meteorological Agency announced, during the time that the total eclipse lasted, the Moon was not completely dark but acquired a reddish tone because part of the sunlight was diverted by the Earth's atmosphere.

"This is how the lunar eclipse and the blood moon were seen in Uga", Rosa García points out in her message sent to La Voz. In addition, in the following image you can see the process of the lunar eclipse seen from the southern town, which ended with the moon with a reddish tone.

Rosa explains that "during the eclipse that began, as planned, at 3:30 in the morning, the blood moon turned reddish due to the rays it still receives from the Sun. Quite a show!!".
