The 35th Canary Islands Music Festival in Lanzarote has been taking place with great success in terms of participation. The third of the events took place last Friday night in the auditorium of Jameos del Agua with the Cadaqués Orchestra. It is directed by the director Anu Tali, born in Tallinn, Estonia, who began her musical training as a pianist and graduated from the Tallinn School of Music in 1991. The orchestra is made up of 43 musicians, including the young Lanzarote violinist, Pablo Araya. The concert began at 8:30 p.m. and was attended by a large audience of followers of this musical genre, including the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, Isaac Castellanos, from Lanzarote.

The concert, which consisted of two parts, began with the work of the Catalan composer, Eduard Toldrá. Composer considered one of the most important figures in Catalan music of the mid-20th century, especially for his important work as director of the Barcelona Municipal Orchestra.

The chosen work was Vistes al Mar (Poetic Evocations), which is in the repertoire of all Spanish string orchestras, but its original wording is for string quartet. It premiered at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona in 1921. Once finished, the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 4, in G major, opus 58, began. Four of the five that Beethoven composed for piano and orchestra and, for many, among whom is modestly the most beautiful of them. The Basque virtuoso pianist Joaquín Achúcarro stood in front of the piano and, surrounded by the orchestra, masterfully performed the work, getting the audience to their feet at the end with a great ovation.

The second part began with Symphony No. 4 in A major, opus 90 ("The Italian"), a work by the prestigious German composer Felix Mendelssohn, an interpretation that the attending public rewarded with their applause. The director of the concert, Anu Tali, thanked the public for their welcome and presented them with an encore entitled "Valse Triste", a work by the Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius, widely recognized as the best composer in his country.
