The highest temperature in Lanzarote in June was almost ten degrees below that of Gran Canaria. The climatological advance prepared by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) shows that last June 30th the highest temperatures for the sixth month of the year were recorded in most of the archipelago.
Lanzarote reached 29.8 degrees and was among the lowest maximum temperatures in the archipelago. Below it, only La Graciosa was positioned, which registered three days earlier, on June 27th, 26.8 degrees. Meanwhile, Gran Canaria registered the highest temperature in the archipelago, with 39 degrees, in the town of Tejeda, at an altitude of 1,060 meters; followed closely by La Gomera, with 37 degrees, at 916 meters.
Regarding the highest minimums of the month, it was also on the island of Gran Canaria where the highest temperature in the Canary Islands was recorded, at 28.6 degrees. On this occasion, it occurred in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. Tenerife followed closely, with a minimum temperature that reached 25.9 degrees.
Meanwhile, La Graciosa registered a highest minimum of up to 21.1 degrees; followed by Lanzarote, with a minimum of 21.7.
Regarding humidity, last June was rainier than expected in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (110%), and less so in the province of Las Palmas (75%). These data placed the archipelago in 25th place for the wettest Junes in the table, which concentrates figures since 1961. The majority of rainfall records occurred in Tenerife.
In Lanzarote, it barely rained last June. In fact, the island of volcanoes registered only 0.2 millimeters of rain at the Los Dolores (Tinajo) and Las Vegas (Tías) stations on the rainiest day.
