The Gymnastics Club “Isla de Lanzarote” was proclaimed team runner-up in artistic gymnastics in the Spanish Championship held last June in the Catalan town of Lleida, in addition to achieving seven gold medals, two silver, two bronze and two Spanish cups.
The mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, wanted to congratulate and recognize “the extraordinary role played by the Gymnastics Club “Isla de Lanzarote” in the aforementioned championship as well as the technical body and board of directors of this Club “for the incredible work they have been carrying out for decades and that has led to excellent gymnasts for Arrecife and the island in general”, in an act held at the club's facilities.
The Arrecife councilors had the opportunity to chat with the gymnasts, as well as with the club's technical team, whom they took the opportunity to convey the pride that Arrecife has.
For his part, the Councilor for Sports of the municipal capital consistory Rosmen Quevedo, accompanied by the second municipal deputy mayor, María Jesús Tovar, presented a plaque in recognition, not only for the achievements obtained in the last national championship but also the enormous work that the club has been developing in the training of some three hundred and fifty boys and girls in the artistic gymnastics modality.
