The General Directorate of Emergencies, based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), has declared a pre-alert for coastal phenomena in Lanzarote from 12:00 hours this Friday.
During this day, there will be bad sea conditions with strong trade winds and combined sea swells with waves reaching between 2.5 and 3.5 meters in height.
The pre-alert will also affect the north and west coast of La Palma, El Hierro, Fuerteventura and the north coast of La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
As for Saturday, the wind will blow from the northeast 5 - 6 (29 - 49 km/h) with local areas of force 7 (50 - 61 km/h) in the channels between islands. The swell will increase to strong swell in the second half of the day and there will be northwesterly swell with waves of up to 2 meters.
Already on Sunday, the wind will be from the north and northeast. In the western islands force 5 - 6 (29 - 49 km/h) and in the eastern islands force 6 (39 - 49 km/h); with areas of force 7 in the high seas and on the southeast and northwest slopes of the islands with greater relief. There will be a strong swell with large areas of rough seas in the vicinity of the eastern islands. There will be a northerly swell with waves between 2 and 3 meters high.
