The Council of Ministers has approved this Tuesday the new regulation on the use of masks, which eliminates the obligation to wear it in most interiors, except in health and social health centers and on all transport.
The royal decree, which will enter into force this Wednesday once it is published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), leaves in the hands of companies the power to impose or not its use to workers based on the assessment made by the occupational risk prevention services, while in the rest of the areas it will only be recommended.
The President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has defended that this is "a magnificent piece of news" and "a further step towards normality".
"It does not mean that we do not maintain the prescriptive hygiene or that we do not attend to vulnerable people", Torres said. "We are going to continue living with the covid, but keeping the economy open and moving towards that longed-for normality", celebrated the regional president.
