The French tourist who painted on a facade of an old house in Lanzarote has published a new mural on another ruined house on the island. This is Vanessa Alice, who a week ago received a call from the Historical Heritage area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote to return one of the affected walls to its natural state.
The artist reported on networks at the end of last week that she had returned to its original state the wall of the 18th-century ruined house that she had painted in the Los Valles viewpoint, in Teguise. However, despite assuring that she had already left the island, this European, resident in Barcelona, has shared a second drawing on a conejero property on her social networks.
"This is to laugh, is she kidding us or what?", says a conejero indignant at this second drawing. Although Vanessa Alice had apologized for the discomfort caused to the population, she insisted that her work gave more value to the space. "I still believe that my painting was an added value to the heritage (and many of us weigh it) that would have become an emblematic point of the island with many visits to the ruin", she added.
In one of her latest publications, in which you can see the first house already restored, several readers left a message. Among them, a user invited her to reflect: "Is the appropriate debate, which nobody seems to understand, whether we really respect the places we visit? Do we bother to know their history? To understand their culture? To know their customs? These ruins do not need a mural or more visits, they already exist and have value in themselves."
