Lanzarote photographer Yoni Pérez, captured the photograph of a huge wave on La Garita Beach. An image taken last week on the coast of Arrieta, while he was walking along the beach at sunset, which he later published on his Instagram account.
In order to take the photograph, the man spent several days observing the sea. "I spent days observing how the wave formed a curious figure when the right conditions of sea force, afternoon light and wave height were present," he told La Voz.
After several attempts, he managed to capture what he believes could define the "fierceness shown by the sea" when it is "disrespected and an imprudence is knowingly committed", especially on days with adverse weather phenomena, the artist stressed. According to his feelings, "it reminded me of a panther showing its most terrible fangs", he added.
In addition, he recalls that "fortunately that same sea, when it is given the respect it deserves, is the greatest mental and physical balm", he acknowledges, giving it value. A work that shows the "two faces" of our island sea, says Pérez.
